Eric On The Issues
Colorado faces unique challenges as it continues to grow. We need a governor who will work with our legislators and municipalities to ensure we have a foundation necessary to protect individual rights across the state, resist undue attempts to influence our policy making, and promote an economy that can provide everyone with dignity and stability.
Energy
Diversity isn't just good for our communities and our economies, it's also good for giving us reliable power for any occasion. From natural gas, wind, solar, nuclear, and promising advances in geothermal potential, Colorado has access to all kinds of energy. As governor I will support attempts to explore new ways to power our infrastructure while ensuring that new energy development does not cause harm to our water supply or our residents.
Healthcare
Medicaid is becoming one of Colorado's fastest growing expenses, exceeding even K-12. One approach to reducing Medicaid costs involves focusing on Value Based Care- where payments are based on long term patient wellness that can improve patient quality of life and reduce emergency room visits. Colorado also needs to work with healthcare providers to address shortages in personnel and access to mental health treatment. The process also needs to be improved for patients so that they can shop around for better services via price transparency.
Privacy
New technologies maintained by private contractors are now being readily accessed by government agents, circumventing critical safeguards under the 4th Amendment. We cannot allow the government's desire for convenient warrantless surveillance circumvent our right to privacy and due process- and we must actively resist efforts by federal entities to demand unwarranted access to our records and personal information. We must also do what we can to ensure that any entity whether public or private treats your data with the utmost of care and protects its from data breaches.
Our team looks forward to discussing more of the issues that matter to you!
